Let's get started
Welcome to your space. Spaces contain the components used to create ilograph relationship diagrams.

Your space is currently empty, so let's add some components to it.

If you haven't already, please check out the ilograph relationship diagram examples.

About components
Components appear as boxes in your relationship diagrams. A component can represent something very abstract, like a department or an application, or something very specific, like a hardware component or a database table.

Components have a name, a type and a description. The name field is mandatory, while the type and description fields are optional but strongly encouraged.

Adding components
Use the "Create new component" widget (on the right) to create components. Try to add at least five components that are related to each other in some way.

Once you are happy with the components you've added, click 'next' below.

A new view has been created. By default, a new view has the name "New View". Click on the view name to change it if you like.

Click on the view to begin editing it. When you do, you'll be asked to select the type of relationship this view will model. If you aren't sure, don't worry, it can easily be changed later.

Adding more components
Click on the newly-added component to bring it into focus. From here, you can select another component to add it as a relation to the focused component.

The exact relation depends on the view type. Views can be either Dependency, Association or Composition views.

You can change the view type at any time by clicking the Change view type button at the top of the screen.

One last thing
By default, your space is private, meaning only you can view it. To allow others to see your work, modify the "privacy and sharing" settings next to your space name in the main menu.

Note that making a space public means anyone can view it, so be careful.
